Description: |
This is the classic Tuisarkhan design and this rug is one of the best of its type.
The features of this design group include the following.
There is a single lozenge or hexagonal medallion with attached arrow shaped pendants on a rich, indigo field.
The field is decorated with an expansive floral vine motif.
There is cockscomb edging on the central medallion and spandrels.
The main border has a barbed rope loop design.
On the best examples, the wool is outstanding.
And, as seen here, there is an effective use of a light green color.
