1925

Description:

The design theme of this rug is decidedly floral and is rendered in a distinctly geometric manner.

The dyes are clear, strong and deeply saturated and are utilized effectively to achieve a pleasing and vibrant color harmony.

There is a good range of color with two red, two blues and an unusually large amount of green used as a secondary or accent tone.

A prominent, lozenge-like medallion nearly consumes the entire light-blue field.

Primitive, fragmented elements of the ubiquitous herati design surround a serrated, eight-pointed indigo star.

Within this star are a large flower head and a variety of smaller floral figures.

The geometric floral theme continues in the spandrels, main border and border guards.
