| Description |
The primary field design consists of 'rising' palmettes on an ivory ground. This design is seen most frequently in Shrivan and Daghestan weaving. Here, the stylized palmettes assume the appearance of large insects. The prayer arch 'floats' on the ivory ground detached from the main border. A strangely configured humanoid figure stands within the prayer arch. A variety of randomly distributed secondary design elements appear in the field. The dyes are from all natural sources.
Condition:
Very good. Isolated areas of good quality re-piling in the border and field done in Istanbul. No moth damage, wear creases or low pile.
