Title

Luri Bag Face,
SW Persia

Size 2'3" x 1'8"
Date 1880 - 1910
Cat. No. 256
Description

The four symmetrically placed white motifs are thought by some to be dragon motifs. If so, one can visualize legs, a rudimentary head and scale-like devices along the creature's side. Regardless, this is a finely woven, good quality example of Luri work. A well executed meandering floral border is presented on a white ground. There is a wide range of richly saturated colors. The wool is soft and lustrous.

Condition: Very good. The pile is in perfect condition.
