Multi-colored
rosettes are displayed on a distinctly abrushed red field.
Motifs in the shape of a "W" separate the rosettes
on the horizontal axis. This design is thought by some to
derive from the so-called "cintamani" pattern of
the 16th century. Kirchheim exhibits a similar but smaller
fragment in "Orient Stars". The skirt at the lower
end of the Herat example is a variant of the reciprocal pinnacle
design and is also seen in the Kirchheim fragment.
